EXPERIENCE ADJUDICATING OR RESOLVING DISPUTES
The primary task of a Texas District Court Judge is to help to adjudicate or resolve disputes; and of course, the 17th Judicial District court is a Texas District Court. So the primary task of the person who will be elected to serve as judge of this Court will be to help to adjudicate or resolve disputes.
Does any candidate in the Republican primary race for the bench of the 17th Judicial District Court have any experience directly relevant to helping others to adjudicate or resolve disputes?
The answer is : “YES” ! Though none of the candidates has served as a judge, one candidate has several years of directly relevant experience : SKIP REYNOLDS.
SKIP served for quite a few years as a member of a fee dispute panel which was a part of the Tarrant County Bar Association. That panel heard and resolved disputes between attorneys and clients, and you can verify this [if you want to] by checking with the person who chaired the panel: Fort Worth attorney Robert Stites. You will find that SKIP was always courteous and fair to all persons involved in the disputed matters that were heard and decided by the fee dispute panel that he served on.
Furthermore, SKIP is currently serving in his fourth consecutive term as the Place 2 member of the ZBA [Zoning Board of Adjustment] in his hometown, Colleyville, which is here in Tarrant County; and he has served for one of those terms as the Vice Chair of that ZBA. The Zoning Board of Adjustment adjudicates disputes involving the use of real property, and is an official part of the government of The City of Colleyville, Texas. Some of the members of this ZBA who serve with SKIP, and have served with him over the years, have noted in writing that SKIP REYNOLDS has always been courteous and fair to all parties who have come before the ZBA during his service as a member of that ZBA over the years.
